Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore has launched the BeyondReality Studio, a cutting-edge facility designed to train students in the latest immersive media technologies. This studio features a unique combination of tools including LED volume walls, motion capture cameras, and green screen technology, all powered by Unreal Engine. The studio aims to equip students with the skills necessary for careers in virtual production, augmented and virtual reality, and metaverse content creation. This initiative positions NYP as a leader in media technology education in the Asia-Pacific region, where the demand for such skills is rapidly growing.
The BeyondReality Studio offers several “firsts” for Singapore, including the first Institute of Higher Learning to feature advanced LED volume technology and the only studio with a 3-in-1 setup of motion capture, green screen, and LED volume. By offering hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and workflows, NYP is preparing students to meet the evolving needs of the film, television, and gaming industries. The studio also serves as a resource for creative media professionals seeking to upskill in immersive media technologies through a range of courses and workshops.
