AJA Advances IP and HDR Workflows with Latest Releases at IBC 2024 (Televisual)

At IBC 2024, AJA introduced several new products and updates to support production, post-production, and AV professionals as they navigate the shift to IP environments and the growing demands for data management. Notable releases include the KONA IP25, a next-generation SMPTE ST 2110 IP video and audio I/O card designed to streamline transitions to IP video standards with multichannel UltraHD support. AJA also launched OG-C10DA, a hot-swappable openGear distribution amplifier card that supports NTSC/PAL analog video, bi-level/tri-level video reference, and AES3-id digital audio, ensuring reliable signal distribution. Additionally, the new OG-ColorBox offers advanced HDR and wide color gamut (WCG) processing for live production, with ultra-low latency and extensive conversion options, addressing modern visual quality demands.

AJA also unveiled enhancements to its Diskover Media Edition software for improved data management. The v2.3 update, along with new plugins for PixitMedia’s Ngenea and Spectra Logic’s RioBroker, provides streamlined access to global storage solutions, enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of managing vast content libraries. AJA also previewed Virtual KONA, a software-defined video capture/playback solution developed with AWS, which leverages AWS Cloud Digital Interface for ultra-low latency cloud-based workflows. The innovations signal AJA’s commitment to driving advancements in media workflows, with Virtual KONA expected to launch in 2025.
