Sony Electronics has announced upcoming updates to its Virtual Production Tool Set this winter, enhancing its utility for broadcast and cinema workflows. The set includes two applications: the Camera and Display Plugin and Color Calibrator, which improve virtual production by simulating camera movements and optimizing color accuracy on LED walls. Version 2.0 of the plugin will add support for additional cameras like the Burano and FR7, and integrate with Unreal VCam, allowing iPad control of virtual cameras. Meanwhile, the Color Calibrator will streamline color correction for LED walls to ensure accurate color matching during filming. Both applications are free to download, with certain advanced features available through a paid license. Sony will showcase these updates at IBC 2024 in September.
