SMPTE, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, has announced its lineup of key sessions and show highlights for IBC 2024, held at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Center from Sept. 13-16. Visitors can find SMPTE in the IBC 2024 Owner Pavilion and attend their sessions as part of the IBC Partner Program, which will feature expert-led seminars on the evolving media landscape. Topics include the transformative role of AI in media production, the future of virtual production workflows, and the evolving guidelines, policies, and standards in the media industry.
One session, “The Transformative Impact of AI on the Media Industry” (Sept. 14), will explore how AI is reshaping content creation and distribution, offering insights into its challenges and opportunities. Another, “Problem-Solving in Virtual Production,” will discuss current hurdles in virtual production workflows, such as color, audio, and interoperability issues, and the importance of incorporating virtual production into film education. Additionally, “Navigating Guidelines, Policies, and Standards in a Changing Media Landscape” will address the need for updated industry standards to keep pace with new technologies and practices.
